With social media shifting largely to “pay to play” models for brands, finding ways to grow organically on Facebook can be a challenge.

Over the years, Facebook has established a market of 1.59 billion, attracting people from all around the world. Moreover, not only have people but business have also managed to make their way to the users via social media platform. The competition on Facebook is fierce, with each business posting updates and products to engage with their audience. However, with the upgrading of Facebook newsfeed algorithm, your content and post might have been less visited by the users. Thus, your organic reach or the exposure of your brand when you post them has declined.

Many people are unaware of the organic reach which Facebook tracks. Who views the post, likes it, comment or share are all the influencing factors which raises your engagement with the user and in turn increases the Facebook ranking. Organic reach is different from promoted post whereby you inflate your viewership by paying significant cost.

To increase your reach and grow organically, here are few steps to look upon:

  • Analyze your Audience: Facebook has all sorts of people; most of them will not be interested in your post. You need to understand the algorithm and trend behind your post. Which posts are viewed more, which are ignored? What should be the frequency of post? What kind of most attracts a greater audience? How can you involve your audience to stop and read through the post? All these key points must be understood and observed through Facebook Insights and algorithm. Facebook provides you with every detail of the timeframe where your post was viewed the most, how many people clicked on the post and all the associated activities with your post. When you have all the information, just learn to analyze them and interpret the best time frame and the best material for your audience.
  • Optimize your content: You need to be distinct. Facebook is filled with clutter, all you need is to break the clutter and stand out and top of all your competition. Let your content grab one of the top spot on the newsfeed. Your content should be relevant to your target audience and can have graphical representations as well. Don’t bombard user with multiple posts, but update quality material and don’t drag it too long. Limit it till you believe that your viewer might be interested.
  • Work smarter: Another important tactic is that your material should be original. There have been a lot of pages copying data and content from other websites and pages, without taking care of copyright issues. Facebook demotes these pages and if reported by the owner, might lead to strict actions. It is always advisable to have originality in the content as well as strong relevance. Also, you can try posting at off peak hours to see if your post captures attention and pays off better.

There is no tactic that would last for long, being on Facebook you need to constantly adjust yourself with the audience and present the best from your side. Working smarter and tactfully will not only enable your post to grab attention among your target audience but will also improve your ranking and organic reach, growing your page to a higher level.
